Our First Ever Ground Mounted Solar PV System

Our First Ever Ground Mounted Solar PV System

This 6.66 kWp Solar PV System was our first ever ground-mounted installation and we are proud of how it turned out and are fully equipped to install more in the future. So if you are looking at investing in a ground mounted Solar PV System to power your home, make sure you get in contact today and we will be happy to assist you with your queries.

Certain roof types are unable to hold solar panels so a ground mounted Solar PV System could be a suitable option for some of you out there. If you are lucky enough to have a larger garden or field and looking to go solar you may want to look at creating your own solar farm to produce as much solar energy as possible.

The system was installed at the backend of the customer’s back garden and was implemented into the ground using a drill to drive the mounting kit into the ground. The system consisted of 18 x Longi Solar, LR4-60HPH-370M black frame solar panels as well as 18 x P401 optimizers connecting to one solar panel each which is what we do for most residential projects. For commercial projects, on the other hand we spilt one optimizer between 2 solar panels as most commercial jobs are much larger systems. The solar panels are facing south, so the system can receive the maximum amount of sunlight so it can produce the maximum amount of energy possible to power the home and swimming pool facility of the customer. The system is wired underneath the surface through a pipe system that runs from the bottom of the garden all the way to the house. We wired the system up to the outer house where the SolarEdge5000H inverter and Tesla Powerwall were due to be installed.

The system is estimated to produce 6.81 MWh of energy every calendar year but this can all change depending on what kind of weather we are getting. The customer is also be helping the environment by having this installation as well as producing his own clean energy as the system saves around 1.59 tonnes of C02 emission which is equivalent to 73 trees being planted.

Residential 4.38 kWp – Ellesmere Port

Residential 4.38 kWp – Ellesmere Port

This week’s case study is based on the recent residential solar PV job we completed in Ellesmere port a few weeks back. The installed DC power of the system is 4.38 kWp and it is estimated to produce 3.58 MWh of energy and save around 834.4 kg of carbon emissions every year. The system consists of 12 x Longi Solar, LR4-60HBD-365M solar panels aswell as the same amount of S440 optimizers to connect to one solar panel each. The SolarEdge 3680H inverter for the system was installed inside a cupboard in the house and wired up to the arrays on the roof. The customer is also looking to install LG Chem RESU10H battery soon to store the energy being produced by the PV system.

Quote From The Customer

“We chose Genfit because we wanted a local company to do the work. The people at Genfit gave us confidence in the product on offer (plus we later found that our son-in-law who is a plumber/ heating engineer is a friend of Dave Houston – it helps to get a connection and a recommendation). We were aided through the ‘discovery’ phase of the project by email discussions with sales staff to arrive at our final configuration. Initial installation of the PV solar system was set up rapidly and went according to plan.”

“We use the system essentially to reduce our usage of electricity from the grid. We are pleased that we are generating more power than we expected and longer term we hope to be able to use the system to power an electric vehicle.”

Residential Project 4.50 kWp Solar PV System – Birkenhead

Residential Project 4.50 kWp Solar PV System – Birkenhead

This 4.50 kWp System in Birkenhead was completed last month consisting of twelve Eurener, MEPV 375-HC Black solar panels connected to the same amount of S440 optimizers. To complete the system we installed the SolarEdge3680H inside the house.

The system is estimated to have an annual energy production of 4.03 MWh and also lower the carbon emissions by almost a tonne every year which will help the environment. The pie chart below shows the amount of production from the system and how much is being exported back to the grid.

4.88 kWp Residential Solar PV Installation in Birkenhead

4.88 kWp Residential Solar PV Installation in Birkenhead

This 4.88 kWp Solar PV installation took place in the Birkenhead area on a newly built home. They decided to go solar to save money on their electricity bills and help the environment by reducing the amount of C02 being produced. The system consisted of thirteen Eurener, MEPV 375-HC Black (120 HALF-CUT) solar panels as well as the same amount of S440 optimizers and one SolarEdge 3680H inverter to complete the system.

The system is expected to produce 3.98 MWh of energy every year to power the home and save 926.86 kg of carbon emissions which is equivalent to 43 trees being planted.

Go Solar Before Summer

In sunny areas of the country, summer is sometimes the most expensive time of year in terms of electricity bills due to air conditioning and fans to keep the house cool. Solar PV systems take a bit of time to adjust and work efficiently, having them set up and ready to go before the summer is crucial if you want to really cut costs. If you get your PV system installed before summer, you will really be able to see the benefits of the warm weather and the difference in your electricity bills.

A lot of people think that leaving it until the summer to ring up and enquire about a PV system is the best time but this can really come back to bite them. Solar panels often take time to install and set up. Not to mention that waiting until the summer is often more difficult because it’s peak season. The last thing you want is to be installing your solar panels in the middle of summer when it will take a lot longer due to increased demand.
