A Greener Future Teed Up at Childwall Golf Club

Powering Sustainability at Childwall Golf Club with 39.15 kWp Solar PV

Genfit recently completed a high-performance SolarEdge solar PV installation at Childwall Golf Club, designed to lower energy costs, reduce carbon emissions, and support the club’s long-term sustainability goals.

The bespoke 39.15 kWp system features 87 Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetic Co. Ltd. DM450M10RT-B54HBT solar panels, optimised with 44 SolarEdge S1000 power optimisers and powered by a SolarEdge SE33.3K inverter. Combining cutting-edge SolarEdge technology with high-efficiency modules, the installation ensures maximum energy yield, system visibility, and safety.

The system is expected to generate 33.37 MWh of usable solar energy annually, saving approximately 6.45 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year — equivalent to planting around 280 trees. With lifetime savings projected at over £156,000 and a payback period of just 4.4 years, the installation offers both strong financial returns and measurable environmental benefits.

Designed for long-term performance, the installation not only provides substantial operational savings but also reinforces Childwall Golf Club’s commitment to sustainability and the UK’s transition toward a cleaner, greener future.

Aston Lodge School

Aston Lodge School

Empowering Education with Solar at Aston Lodge School, Sheffield

Last year, Genfit completed a solar PV installation at Aston Lodge School in Sheffield, as part of an ongoing collaboration with Wickersley Partnership Trust to deliver renewable energy solutions across multiple schools in the region.

The system features advanced SolarEdge technology, combining smart inverter control and real-time monitoring to maximise energy generation and performance. With a total installed DC power of 42.4 kWp, the system achieves a maximum AC output of 30 kW and produces approximately 35.59 MWh of clean energy each year. This saves around 6.88 tonnes of CO₂ annually — the equivalent of planting 316 trees every year.

The installation has helped Aston Lodge School reduce its energy costs and carbon footprint, freeing up valuable funds that can be reinvested into education and school facilities, while also contributing to the Trust’s wider sustainability objectives.

As part of the project, Genfit’s Project Manager visited the school to deliver an interactive talk, showing pupils how solar energy works and how their new system helps power classrooms with clean, renewable electricity.

Through its partnership with Wickersley Partnership Trust, Genfit continues to support schools across Sheffield and Rotherham in their transition to a greener future — making energy simple, sustainable, and educational.
