Honeysuckle House Solar PV Installation

Honeysuckle House Boosts Energy Resilience with High-Performance Solar PV

Genfit successfully delivered a high-efficiency solar PV and battery storage installation at Honeysuckle House in York for RPS Group, a global consultancy specialising in planning, design, engineering, environmental services and project management. Now part of Tetra Tech, RPS supports complex property, energy, transport, water and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on sustainable and resilient development.

Designed to maximise on-site renewable generation and strengthen energy resilience, the system comprises 103 SunPower SPR-P7-450-BLK solar panels, providing a combined installed DC capacity of 46.35 kWp and a maximum AC output of 25.00 kW. Split across two roof orientations to optimise year-round performance, the array is expected to generate approximately 40.92 MWh of usable solar energy annually.

The installation is supported by an advanced inverter and battery storage configuration, including one SolarEdge SE25K inverter paired with 52 S1000 optimisers and three SE5K-RWB48 Home Hub backup-ready three-phase inverters. Two are connected to SolarEdge Home Batteries containing five 48 V modules each, while the third is connected to a battery containing three modules.

This scalable storage system ensures surplus solar energy can be stored and used during periods of peak demand or power outages, further reducing reliance on the electricity grid. The installation is projected to save approximately 7.91 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to planting 363 trees each year, demonstrating how intelligent solar and battery storage design can deliver substantial environmental, operational and financial benefits.
