Powering Reel Cinema with Renewable Energy

Genfit has delivered a 125 kWp rooftop solar PV system at Reel Cinema, designed to generate clean, renewable electricity while reducing the site’s reliance on grid power. The installation comprises 236 solar panels, 120 SolarEdge optimisers, and 1 inverter, delivering up to 90 kW of AC power to support the cinema’s daytime energy demand. Based on detailed performance modelling, the system is expected to generate approximately 105 MWh of renewable electricity every year, helping to lower operational energy costs and improve long-term sustainability. The installation will also save around 20 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, the equivalent of planting approximately 950 trees each year. By transforming unused roof space into a productive energy asset, Reel Cinema is taking a significant step towards a more sustainable future while demonstrating how entertainment venues can benefit from on-site renewable energy generation.

Quote

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is helping organisations understand the long-term benefits that solar can bring. Every site is different, so taking the time to assess energy usage, roof suitability and future requirements is key to delivering the right solution. It's great to see businesses investing in renewable energy and making a positive impact on both their operating costs and sustainability goals.

Current Focus

Lewis is currently focused on supporting commercial clients with solar PV, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure projects, helping organisations across the UK transition to cleaner, more cost-effective energy solutions.
